PCC Inc Volunteer Board

Board members are elected through a formal Annual General Meeting process.  All Board members are voluntary representatives of the community with no Board member being paid for performing their extensive volunteers duties.  These volunteer duties include daily involvement / consultation in Centre and program activities in addition to the minimum 8 General Board Meetings (average 3 hrs each meeting) per year.

Katie Smith (President)

Katie Smith has been a solicitor on the Peninsula for over 20 years, with 12 as an accredited specialist.  She has also been a member of the PCC Board for over 10 years.  For more information regarding Katie, please go to her website at: www.weststreetlegalservices.com.au

Debra Wales (Vice-President)

Debra is a local resident, mother of two adult children, who raised her family on the Peninsula and successfully manages, with her husband, an Urban Design business based at Umina Beach.  Besides being a dedicated volunteer Board member, Debra has been a Gosford City Councillor 1999 - 2004, and part of the Ettalong Beach Heritage Committee, donating her time and skills in designing the upgrade of the town centre and shopfronts, as well as initiating the Ettalong Beach foreshore management plan.  Debra also co-ordinated the process to establish a community bank in Ettalong Beach.  The initiation and organisation, as Chairperson, of the Brisbane Water Oyster Festival & Blessing of the Fleet has also been a highlight of Debra's distinguished career. Debra Wales has worked tirelessly for the local community in a voluntary capacity as the Peninsula Mainstreet Co-ordinator from 1995, and still continues in this role today.


Daryl Lynch (Treasurer)

Daryl has lived on the peninsula for 14 years and had been networking within the Central Coast community and local government due to his job, working in finance with Central Coast First.  Daryl joined the air force in 1969 and after 23 years, gaining experience in management and many other areas of business, he moved to the Coast.

Rhonda Mitchell (Secretary)

Rhonda has been a member of the community centre for 18 years, and Board member for 12 years.  She has been the coordinator for the School of Learning for 14 years, and is always willing to help and assist other members of the centre.

Max Brigden

A retired local butcher of the district, managing a butcher shop in Woy Woy (Frazier Lee's), and another 10 years in Ettalong.  Max has lived on the coast since 1967, and has been a loyal Board member for 8 years, 3 years of which Max was Treasurer. 

Wendy Ellis

Wendy is the owner/manager of the Peninsula Dance & Theatre School located in the PCC, and she also has a background in finance of approximately 20 years. Wendy has also volunteered on the John Hoare Committee, networking and collaborating with the other Service providers in the John Hoare Close Estate.

Gordon Ward

Gordon James Ward was elected Director of the PCC for 2006.  I have lived on the Woy Woy Peninsula for the past 37 years.  In the 70's, I was a Junior Soccer Coach for the Umina Soccer Club.  I am a past President of the Central Coast Chapter of the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation.  During my time on the peninsula I have owned and successfully operated three businesses.  My last 23 years of working life was that of a Police Officer with the New South Wales Police Force.  I'm now a volunteer bus driver with the Before and After School Care and the Vacation Care programmes.
