School for Learning

Social - Friendship - Support Group

A leisure, learning, recreation, friendship and support group that has been operating for 17 years.  All activities are organised by the group, for the group.  Come along on any Tuesday morning (except school holidays) at 10.am for more information on what is going on. At this meeting, we decide on what further courses we may run, plus we organise our social outings on a regular basis.  New activities and programs start at different times of the year.  To become part of the fun or for more information, please come along at 10 am on the Tuesday for a 'Have a Chat Meeting'.

Special Events:  Theatre parties, weekend outings, shopping trips and many more exciting activities are arranged throughout the year.  For bookings and more details regarding times, dates and prices, please phone the centre during the hours of School for Learning on (02) 4341 9333.

Tuesday

  • 11am Have a Chat Meeting: Involves all members making decisions for the School, plus arranging theatre parties and weekend outings throughout the year.
  • 10 am to Noon Discussion Group A tutored, self discussion group on The "Pro's and Con's" of current affairs.
  • 12:00 Noon to 1:00 pm onwards Lunch
  • Fun afternoon with Rumikin or cards

Wednesday

  • 9:00 am to 12:00 noon Oil Painting Join a painting group.  Our experienced teacher will help you to find your hidden talents.
  • 10.00 am to 12:00 noon Multicraft - needlework. Lessons on tapestry, crotchet, Knitting, Sewing and any other craft you may be interested in.

Thursday

  • 10:30 am to 12:30 pm Australiana A group discussion on the history of early Australia with a tutor in attendance.
  • Every second Thursday of the month there is enjoyable outings at different venues of interest. (cost $5 - SFL day fee included)

Friday

Bush Walk - fourth Friday of the month. Interesting walks, suitable for the over 45's.  Cost $5.00 including bus.  It is absolutely essential to book for these outings.
