The Peninsula
Community Centre has a strong youth program highlighted by The Web Youth
Services,
which is a meeting place for youths from the Peninsula.
It is funded by the Department of Community Services and the Department of
Health and Ageing. 'The Web' Youth Service provides
a safe and friendly drop in service for young people 12-18 years of age.
Youth workers are available to support and assist young people and
families. So, feel free to chat with a youth worker, hang out with
friends or enjoy the recreational activities and group programs

Service AOD (Alcohol and Other Drug) Project |
The WEB Youth Service AOD (Alcohol and Other Drug)
Project is funded by the Commonwealth Department of Health and
Ageing since July 2002, to provide a service for young people
aged 12 to 18 who may have concerns related to either their own
or others’ use of alcohol or other drugs.
This service also provides information, counselling and referral
in two local high schools in the Peninsula area.
The WEB Youth Service AOD counsellor is available at Brisbane
Water Middle and Senior campuses and at The Web Youth Service.

| Adolescent
Primary Health Unit |
The aims of the Adolescent Primary Health Unit are a) to
support Central Coast GPs provide general medical services at
Youth Centres to high risk young people in a youth-friendly,
non-judgemental environment; b) to support Youth Centre youth
workers refer and triage adolescents with health needs to the
Youth Centre GP Clinics; c) to facilitate referral processes
between Youth Centre GP clinics and other health/youth related
services.
The clinic was established at a high attendance Youth Centre at
the Peninsula Community Centre, on Friday evenings. Three
Central Coast GPs agreed to conduct a 4 hour clinic once a week
on a rotating roster basis. These GPs were supported by a
Clinical Nurse Consultant who conducted joint consults with the
GPs and a senior youth worker from the service who referred and
triaged young people into the clinics. Benefits for Clients
